A wind turbine in Denmark self-destructs. At least when one of these goes up there's only a dangerzone of a mile radius until all the debris comes down.

I'm confused as to why it exploded... they must have known before hand.

They did know a little bit before hand, as the people who recorded the video was part of the crew sent to fix the wind turbines. But they don't know why when part of the windmill failed, it exploded instead of... not exploding.
