I don't know whether I should scrap the whole thing or not, since I've been working on this project for three days and it hasn't gotten any better. It just keeps shaking.

I've been consdiering slapping up the screen grabs and takening them to macromedia fireworks, since we have it at school. (I had a fun time this morning playing with dreamweaver)

But for some reason I'm bound and determined to produce these on the cheep. I think all of the icons I've made except a few have been made with just paint and UnFREEz. And you can really tell when you compare it with icons made with paintshop and fireworks. For one thing, everything isn't tinted blue. I know it loses color information when you save it as a .gif, but why blue? And I'm sure some of the poor quality comes from laziness (see the joike icon) and inexperience (Which I'm working on. I have some nice animaions of Hurricane Frances)

On the other hand, I could just send the screen grabs to the guy who requested the thing in the first place. Kinda of a "my first icon" project. But since he just recently started being able to save .gifs and have them work, I'm hesitant to do so.

And on a side note: Shareeza is decieding to crash my computer instead of working lately. And for some reason it's never liked runing under a screen saver. I understand the crashing, but freezing when the screen saver comes on I just don't get...

I'm half asleep, so this many make little sense.

To take a stab at it, it appears that your program is saving the animated gifs at a low quality. You're losing image information through both the loss in colour information (GIFs lower the amount of colour in the whole image to 256), the dithering of the image and the fact that the image is lossy. Huge losses of information result in funky things, thus the blue.

Programs like ImageReady (Adobe's answer to Fireworks) let you have control over things like lossiness and dithering to a certian point. I'm not if unFREEze has such controls.

In other words: It's not really your laziness or inexperience as much as the limits of the program you're using.

Yeah, most of it makes sense. And it's great to know it's not all my fault. But what's dithering?
