Jul. 4th, 2004 07:56 pmHappy Fourth of July for the citizans of the US. For everyone else: you aren't missing much.
Today my Papa and I went down to Dean Park because the American Legion were sponsering a hay wagon ride though the park and he was working it. By working it I mean handing out little flags and occasionaly helping someone to balance when they were going up or down into the wagon, even though he really isn't supposed to.
And what did I do? Walk around the park twice and watch Papa do the above metioned for three hours. Mama, Mom, and Auntie Linda told me to do so and call at the first sign of trouble and make sure that "he didn't do anything stupid". Which he didn't. But it was nice out so I really didn't mind.
Also, I had a unexpected windfall. Mama is cleaning out her garage for some unfathomable reason and putting these paper edging on the shelves. And Mom and I are helping her... at times. Alyissa isn't helping because she went back to Indiania yesterday so she can go to Madison tomorrow to go apartment hunting. Good luck to her, because she has the biggest streek of bad luck this side of the fictional Mike Nelson. Since she just got the job, she due for a whopper. Ten to one she injures her back while moving.
Getting back to the slightly main point, Mama had a box of jewerly-type items from a cousin in a box and she gave me the box to go though and take what I want. I got a few things that I liked, some pins from caribian islands and the cousion's son's medals and dog tags. But the best item in there was a pocket watch. It needs to be cleaned because the arms are rusted, but the mechanics are fine. I've always wanted a pocket watch. Plus there was this ugly looking braclet that we think is ivory, some ugly bracelets that we think is baklite, and a Pope John Paul II pendet and rosary that I'm going to give my sister because she collects religous pariphanila/kitch.
Now, I'm going to catch up on some fanfiction and wait for a reasonable time to go to bed so I don't wake up at three AM.
