Just finnished watching Hannibal, and it was... okay.  The movie was formatted to network television, CBS infact, so of course it was a tad less gorey.  Which was fine, because I was eatting supper at the same time.  The biggest beef I had with the thing is they completly changed the ending  from that of the book.

And that the 11:00/10:00 news afterwards had the leading story of how "The Hannibal of Staen Island"  might be getting out on prolle soon.  So thier going to try him with the murder of another of his victems, whose body they never found, 23 year old recollections of what happened, and some hearsay between convicts in the clink.

Shouldn't they have done this, oh say, TWENTY-THREE YEARS AGO?  The only new evidence they have is the above metioned boasting about what he did.  And the evidence they had of the first case was pretty weak as well, but at least that time, they had a body.  But the only thing they could get him on was kiddnapping, because pople only saw him in the area.

I'm pulling all of this from a news blurb, so it could be far more complicated than this and with more evidence.  They had to report about someone else getting killed in a hit and run acciendent, and an atm hijacking ring.

So in the book, Hannibal almost brain-washes Clarice, Clarice and Hannibal eat the brain, and go on holiday to Buenos Aires.  Where Barney sees them, and the moral of the story is "You can know only so much and live."  The movie ends where Clarice and Hannibal don't eat the brain, Clarice constantly tries to subdue Hannibal even though she is strung out on pain-killers, but Hannibal cuts off his had to get out of the hand-cuffs--why he just didn't cut the chain is beyond me--and the last part is Hannibal is on an airplane to somewhere with a snackbox with a side of brain.  He and this little kid have a conversation and the kid tastes the brain. The moral of the movie is "Do what's right."  Amusingly enough, Hannibal kills people who where screwing other people over.  So in this bizzare way, he and Clarice were doing the same thing.  Only his was vile, even though Clarice killed more people.  Far more people.  As in Book of World Records for most kills made by a female FBI agent. But Clarice was far more good than Hannibal.  Wacky.
