My television programming is very Deja Vu right now. Why?

MST3K was finaly put out of it's misery... I mean taken off the air on the January 31 last year and I then saw Mike doing a cameo on a show a few hours later.

Today, Portal may have been taken off the air. I don't know, but the fact it has "no episodes currently schedualed" does not inspire confidence in me. And Dave is doing a cameo in a show in a few hours.

That sucks. I've seen runs end with MST3K, Prisoners of Gravity and, well, many, many runs of the Red Green Show. Plus lots of minior cartoons and shows where it seemed I was the only fan in existance.

And... such as fandom is, it's uber depressing. I can't explain how sore I felt when I discovered that MST3K wasn't producing new episodes. I discovered the show through the movie and by the time I had 'net access at school several years later, I discovered that the new stuff ended just a few months earlier.

The crappiest part is there's often NOTHING good to fill the void. I think I'm going to go off to rant about the current state of media.

It's not that there's nothing good, it's just really difficult to find a new shiney thing that the tv excutives don't cancel in a few months or that isn't expensive.

And no matter how bad everything is, fandom always comes crawling back. And it's good for a little while before everything colapses again.
