twincityhackerLast week's The Brave and The Bold was so much win I can't believe it exists. Though it was very much a Halloween type of an episode.
We open in Victorian London with Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson! They're tracking down who is behind a string of supernatural attacks around the Whitechapel area. The crowd of bystanders who find the body become a murderous mob and go after Jason Blood and try to burn him at the stake.
Batman is magically summoned by a bit of awesome by Holmes and Watson, saves Blood, and they have wacky hijinks. During this time Batman's suit get's ruined, so Etrigon makes Batman a new suit - directly ripped from Gotham by Gaslight.
OBVIOUSLY the day is saved, because how could it not with the four of them, and Batman goes home after some lulz with him saying that he knew it was Holmes because he was the greatest detective evar.
They even did well with all the timy-wimy aspects - Etrigan knowing who Batman is because of Batman and Green Arrows's Medieval Vacation, and why Gentleman Ghost hates Batman so much.
The only thing that wasn't good was the WTFness of Watson's characterization. For some reason, the writers were under impression that he's both an idiot and in charge of the police force. The idiot part is ingrained in popluar culture, but where the heck did the police force thing come in?
