I liked it. My favorite scene had to be "Darvos reveals the Doctor's soul" bit. Because, while his Children of Time see so many wonders of the universe, most of them become lots more violent. With the exception of those who started out as soldiers like Jamie, Jack, or Turlough. Those charecters just had their violence re-directed and focused.

But what is this Donna being mindwiped, Rose and Jackie being sent off with Clone!Ten, and Jack is grounded for choosing someone over the Doctor? I though the episode ended with them all flying the TARDIS into the sunset? Presumably to disassemble the Ostenhangen System because benevelent or not UNIT should not be able to blow up the Earth?

In my happy universe, they have an after-party and slowly drift off. Rose gets her closure with Ten, and goes off with Jackie back home to her life. Other!Ten goes off with them, because of whole universe imbalence thing with two Doctors - and a whole different reality to explore. Mickey stays in this universe because he feels that he's done what he's needed to do in the parallel universe, and Jack's bragging about how proud he is of his team and Cardiff interests him. Donna decides that she's completed her apprenticeship, and she wants to apply what she's learned to her home planet and time.

And the Doctor goes back to the TARDIS realzing that he can pop in and see his adopted family when he's feeling isolated and alone.

Sure, it's complete fanish denial, but this way I can be satisfied with "Journey's End" being the last episode of Doctor Who for two decades. Or until someone says that Moffat has really changed things or the Doctor has stopped being a complete dick.

Which is kinda silly because Torchwood has charecters acting like dicks quite a bit of the time. The difference is that the writers are ( most of the time ) trying to write them as cruel bastards with a very thin line between them and the people they hunt down. My opinion on the Doctor is galaxies away of those writing him, so his actions are much worse to me than what was intended.

So, I'll be chilling out with my lovely MST3K, Torchwood, and Sarah-Jane Adventures.
