There's nothing like trying to do a speech, and needing to cite things that you know but you don't know where the particular statstic came from.
For example, I want to cite that tht length of the average soundbite has decreased by at least ten seconds from about thirty seconds to something between twenty and fifteen. Except I have no idea what book I got that out from, though I'm positive it was a book.
Plus, I want to cite something called "The broken window policey" where a police cheif ( I think of New York City ) put in place a system in a high-crime neighborhood where minor offencives where prosocuted, and then the more severe crimes like muder and armed robbery went down as well. Can't remember the title of that book either, but how many books include ants, slime mold, and citites?
EDIT: And here's the theory! Thanks
ludditerobot! The book I was attempting to recall was Emergence: The Connected Lives of Ants, Brains, Cities, and Software. Which I should probably read again.
Bah. Anyway, time for History and Phiosphy of Physics. We're only three days behind on a sixteen day class!
EDIT: And now it's time for programing. *sighs*
