When out on the town - well, not really, since I headed out of town towards college mall instead of into Bloominton - to get some things for class. Since whatever they charge for a VHS tape on campus is something I have no desire in paying, and other captive audience prices.

This would not normally be interesting, except I hardly ever leave campus. But the call of non-price gouging was too good to resist.

So, I tried to get to Target and a grocery store and ended up at CVS instead. Which was fine, as I manged to find everything I needed there, though it took forever to find the pens and note cards.

On the way back I had lunch at the City Delicatesn, Oyster Soup. Which was nice, because while walking out it was a lot warmer than walking back. Though thankfuly the majority of the slush was still frozen over on the sidewalk, as the sidewalk served as a drainage ditch for the road.

Though the oddest thing was when I walked into Borders, and then somehow suffered intimidate culture shock. Yes, I did manage to be culture shocked by generic mainstream US culture. Mostly because for a moment I wanted to hunt down the Torchwood books - except not only was I in the wrong country but wrong continent. A similar thing happened when I realized that I probably couldn't get anything with John Barrowman in it unless I wanted to shill out for the movie soundtrack of The Producers.

But I did find the 1962 Off Broadway Cast recording of "Anything Goes." Cole Porter! P.G. Wodehouse! Almost Original Broadway Cast! Though, with the "almost original" bit, I don't feel as bad about thinking of hunting down the 2002 London Revival instead.

Yes, the dramas of being bit of a musical fan - never knowing whats the best recording of a show to get. = ) You should have seen the amount of people I had to talk to about the right recording of Les Miserables to get. (10th Anniversary London Cast in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall, it turns out)
