Even though I ussualy hate the district with a firey passion, and don't agree with they're stupid policiys, don't really like interacting with people all that much, and complain a lot, I like school. I would like school a lot more if I was still living in Wisconsin, but still.

So we were given our books today, and I have quite a few of them. But I don't have to carry about my Chemistry and Algerbra II (EVIL! EVIL!) because there's a complete set of classroom copies in Chemistry, and I just instald the ebook of the Algerbra II text. Right there my load is lightened 15 pounds. Plus it means my Chemistry text might survive the year!

Mrs. T even joked when she was handing the books out that even though collage textbooks are expensive, they're made rather cheeply.

And I'm still taking classes with the freshmen, dammit. I doubbled up on science last year by taking freshman Biology and sophmore Chemistry and the Health and Gym requirements to avoid this. But Into to Art is filled with freshmen.

You should see my Microcomputers textbook, Understanding Computers Today and Tomorrow. It's 700-odd pages long, printed on something akin to tissue paper, has a paperback cover and cheap binding and cost me (drumroll please) $90. I think I may have read it once or twice for class but I still got 94%. Heh, at least it will burn well if I need campfire fuel, unless the binding glue gives off fumes.

I've always wondered why textbooks, or non-fiction books in general are so expensive, or expensive compared to a fiction book. At first I was thinking that they were expensive because not many people wanted them, so that made less of them made, which made them rare, which made them expensive. Or some economic reason I can't quite grasp.

Now I just think it's the publishing companies really cheep books make a big profit because either people have to required to buy them for somthing, or they really want to know whats in the book.

Or it's a conspricy to make people less infomed so people can take over the world easier.
