The familia went down to Evansville today, to do some serious shopping. Mom had a list of places to go, and by god, we got it all done.
Sorta.
While we went to all the places she had in mind, we didn't find the stuff she was looking for in any of them except for Bath and Body Works.
Mom and I were checking out a store called a store called Gordens or something like that, and I decied to go make a lap around the store to see what they had and then I saw it: the dress. I don't wear dresses, in fact, I haven't bought a dress in six years and that was for my aunt's wedding. But this dress isn't any normal dress, it's an evening gown. And it's classy dammit. It doesn't show anything, but still looks hot. Or at least I think so, but I still want hats to come back.
At Borders, I had a list of books I wanted to get. While I did find The Moon is a Harsh Mistriss I didn't find either American Gods or Good Omens or Spook. What I did end up doing is picking up Pattern Recognition and Hellboy and currling up with a sucsssion of comic books. The first had Lorna Dane it it because my hand was vaugly near it, then Hellblazer: Original Sin because I figured I should have some knowlage of that cannon. Except for the fact I didn't get very far since it was too... confusing. Or something like it. (I'll read it again some other time - it took me two years to get started on The Hobbit before I read further than page twenty.) Then I got hooked on Volume One of No Man's Land since I've been curious on what the hell that story was. But I had to put that one down because we had to go.
And on the way home, I taught my mother how to use an ipod while I was driving. Probably not the safest thing to do, but it's better that I distract her with something, since she needs to be doing something else other than watching me drive.
