I don't think that I'm going to be writting any Buffy fic after this, because I've spent the last day fixing the calender system for my worldbuilding project.

The thing that was killing me was, since it's based from the creation of the univese Thursday, 14,348,465,684 years and 57 days ago at 3:42 PM.

I figure, if you're going to create a universe, you ought to be exact in at least some of your details.

Anyway, the calender is based on the Mayan one, with a few slight alerations. The first is that there aren't any Great Cycles. Once they run out of markings, they make a new one up - not like their going to need a new one soon since another 5,000,000,000,000 days have to pass to add another mark.

So today's date would be 5.2.3.7.1.8.9.9.6.1.5.7.7. Since the first six covers all of written human history, the other 5 markers are used to mark the life spans of astronomical objects - most people use only the three in day to day life. For my purposes, I have to use the last five, but that's because there's a charecter from about 1000 years from the future kicking around present day.

Oh, and not only did I get most of the calender covered (I still have to name the markers) I found out the sort of things Russians might grow in their gardens.

I say "might" because the only info was on Russian Jews in the US in 1919 and a Polish woman (she came from one of the times Russia had conqured Poland) in the US, but her garden was hevily influenced by some Italian gardens.

So with a grain of salt, the list is: Potatos, Tomatos, leafy greens, cabbages, cucumbers, beets, horseradish, and pickling herbs.
