twincityhackerAfter hitting my head hours and hours ago my brain is still wonky. This is why you shouldn't hit your head on concrete block walls, kids!
Torchwood? Good, but felt much, much longer than 50 minutes. More thoughtful details after I stop feeling I'm going to fall asleep in my chair.
Orginaly, I thought Arthur Winters a stand in for someone else, as "Harry Saxon" was acting more like a completely batshit insane George W. Bush. In addition I thought there would have only been UK troops - and US troops, as we dragged everyone else into it - in Afganistan as in "Warriors of the Kudlak" the missing boy's father died in the middle east. And I was hoping it was only the invasion that there was actual reasons other than "I wanted to."
But, no, apparently there's an Iraq war too! What, did Daddy Winters get his ass kicked by the dictator of Iraq in the Whoverse as well?
*sighs* It kinda sucks to be an ordinary person in the Whoverse, doesn't it? You get all the shitty stuff from here, and even when there's aliens, you only get to see the bad parts instead of the wonderful things. And the decades long conspiracies to keep knowledge of alien life away from the public. Even when there's better things - like how there was rapid space development that got people all the way to Jupiter - those things have gone away.
