No, you're not. :) I tend to find that I like the companions and background characters far more than I do the Doctor, who I invariably want to slap for being a self-righteous, preachily-moralising little hypocrite....
Depends on the Doctor. If you mean Ten, yes yes a thousand times yes! I cop to loving absolutely everything Four does whether I should or not, but I realize this isn't rational.
Nine's not too bad, I think. He and Ten have similar problems, but Nine knows that he has Issues. I don't think Ten thinks about them, which makes for a far more frustrating charecter.
I've only seen a little bit of the other Doctors. What I've seen hasn't thrilled me, but I think that was them at their worse.
The First Doctor is a complete and utter asshole for the first few serials, then begins to ease up a bit. The Third is always pompous and self-absorbed, particularly when he's exiled on Earth and chafing at running errands for the stupid humans. The Fourth is just a complete loon and the Seventh is a shameless manipulator. The others I don't know well enough to say.
I do! It wanders to "like" occasionally, but my default mode for Ten is "wants to strangle and drown in a sink."
I thought about the respiratory bypass - then I realized I just have to hold him under for a very, very long time. While he's handcuffed.
I've not watched enough of the other Doctors besides Nine to form an opinion. Otherwise, I'd be judging One and Three on their first serials, which is probably not fair at all, as that is where One probably acts the worst during his entire run, baring Susan's departure. And Three trying to skip off in the middle of an invasion...
Basically the Doctor is a wanker and has to get by on charisma winning people over. Which may be why most (?) fans seem to dislike at least one Doctor.
