Interests
followspot
I used to be a theatre tech. While I could run just about anything, my specialty was lights. So I either ran followspot - the spotlight - or ran the light board. Well, I could be a tech again if I find a theatre group that have amature techs.
statistics
While I dislike math, I respect it's usability as a tool to explain things. I also respect it's ability to obfuscate things, and this interest mostly came about from the great Livejournal Wank about who actually using the site - and was able to point out that, at the very least, yes there are way more female users than male users without a doubt using statistics on
no_lj_ads.
theater of the mind
I love old time radio, and any other audio medium that has a story or plot to it. I also, somewhat weirdly, envision story plots and dreams as being staged in some of the theatres I've worked in.
Icons
This was an icon I entered into the
basic_icontest, and I got mod's choice. It's just fiddling with the color from green and blue to orange and red, plus some black squiggles, but I like it and works for random travel moments.
Sometime ago I reaized I needed an icon that needed to say *hugs* What better to say that then first season Gypsy and Joel from MST3K? It's cropped as such because it's not the most flattering of expressions on Gypsy, where her mouth is oddly hinged and resting on the desk.
Apathy and depression, baby. KTMA era Joel Hogsdon - and I mean the charecter, as they changed his name to Robinson in the first season - after a sketch where Joel smacks around the 'bots for various offenses, and goes off to his 'trailer' and Gypum and Crow act out Casablanca, in a fake flashback by Servo to a non-existent relative. I love the KTMA era: it almost makes the rest of the series look sane!
