I managed to seriously freak myself out to-day.



So, I got the book, and I was on page 15 and wondered how long the book was going to go on. It's over 800 pages, but the last page or two deals with Gotterfried, and him being sealed up in the V2. Except, well... He's blonde. And he's ball gaged. And since one of my favorite obscure in-jokes is Everything is Subtext I: Gravity's Rainbow and MST3K...

So when I read that bit about him in the rocket I thought of that picture by thefamiliar with Joel and the ball gag. Because Gotterfrid is similar to Joel, somewhat. Yeah, that's how my mind works.

It don't completely buy the "Gravity's Rainbow" argument as it really goes out on a limb towards the end. If Joel's interview is to be believed, then MST3K has more to do with kid's cartoons than American literature.

That's an intresting idea. Not the hotness part, I can't really judge the hotness of an image, but the objectification of a charecter... this is a bit of a coincidence too, as I was just reading posts on how females are drawn in comic books. Hm. I have to think about it.

It was a very "AGH! BRAIN FRIED!" moment when they all wound up tying together in my mind. It's all very coincidental, true, but still brain breaking. Kinda like Tom's race car bed, or the two times that I came across identical sentences.

I love the Gravity Rainbow theory for just being its cracked out self. I mean, come on, there's no way that Hodgson is the actual Kenosha Kid. But there are some intresting simiarities between the two sets of casts, so it's just crazy enough to be funny but at the same time intresting to think about, which is the perfect blend for a fandom theroy.

see, i'm all for out-on-a-limb connections like this. things like this make fandoms extra interesting for me. like syncing invader zim to the velvet underground, it's just fun.

*snerk* i love that picture. even if it is a first attempt with terrible colouring. for my next objectification, i will re-design joel as a credenza. X3

*cocks head* But how would that... work? Would the credenza just be Robinson Red with the inside of the drawers with various paintings of organs? Maybe with caucasian skin-tone handles. I would say blue, but tan goes better with that color red, really. = )

And crack fandom therories are the best. My favorite one that I made personaly was where I postulated (http://msp-hacker.livejournal.com/45252.html) that the Satlittle of Love was the Mir.
