Support Stacie September Auction starts tonight at 12:59 AM EST. I'll be bidding this time around.

This auction encapsulates everything that is awesome about fandom and everything that sucks about the US health care system.

The person who the auction is benifiting is battling both breast and ovarian cancer. Since Stacie was diagnosed during that 90 day waiting period for her new job, her employer's health insurance wouldn't cover her - and after that period ended, it still wouldn't cover her because she had cancer. Stacie had to quit her job, anyway, soon after to start treatment.

And the money that the auction brings in does do a lot of good. In the winter, Stacie got pruenomina, and the money that one if the rounds of auctions brought in paid for the hospital stay and the medications.
