twincityhacker: hands in an overcoat's pockets (Daleks - The pumpkin Dalek)
It would be really, really awesome for those times I have a group saying "let's met at the library in the lobby!" that the other members of the group, you know, show up at the designated time in the lobby of the library.

It would also be cool if I had the email of those group members that aren't here, but that piece of paper has vanished.

So, I have to decide on whether I write the group proposal or wait until Monday were we all will, presumably, have class together. A hopeless delusion, I'm sure. *sighs*

That 'Shipping Meme

1. Jack/Estelle ( Torchwood ): for they are probably one of the greatest things in Torchwood. They are, frankly, adorable and completely made of win.

2. Joel/Mike ( Mystery Science Theater 3000 ): It's more of a meta pairing than anything else because they only interacted for less than ten minutes in what passes for cannon in MST3K. My standard answer to the "which host do you like better" question, if someone brings the forbidden topic up. Make love, not war!

3. Nine/Jack/Rose ( Doctor Who ): It's fluffy, and actually good for the the three of them. Or, at the least it gives the Doctor a reason to keep breathing, and Jack is slowing becoming a better man, and Rose learns to share a bit, yeah?

4. Jack/Known Universe ( Whoverse ): More of a meta pairing again.

5. Jack/TARDIS ( Doctor Who ): There might be a slight pattern to this meme...

6. Mohindir/Matt ( Heroes )

7. Leo/Max ( The Producers ) In the musical. The first movie, it would be too creepy.

8. Ariel/Casey ( The Magicians ) Hardboiled detective and the dame he meets on the job.

9. Spenser/Susan ( Spencer novels ) Same as above. Only without the magic! That would be the "summoning demons" magic, not the "complete hotness" magic.

10. House/Wilson ( House )

I think I finally get the "fixed-point" thing.

Time is movement. Hands going around a clock, the Earth going around the Sun, atoms vibrating.

Jack is wrong because he isn't moving. He's a constant: everywhere, infinite. You can't tell the Earth is moving because everything else is going a the same speed you are. So Jack's immeasurable and unseen in one of the Doctor's senses but existing quite there with the rest.

It's a bit like meeting Rimmer from Red Dwarf. You can see him, hear him, but you go to touch him your hand goes right though his chest. Plus, he's dead. We'd consider that weird, and wrong, and creepy, because Rimmer is there but at the same time he is not.
