Everyone's favorite cowtown puppet show - and this is irrefutable as it's the only one - is producing "new adventures" of the 'bots. Heading the project it Jim Mallon and Paul Chaplin.

At the moment everyone seems to be... incredibly sceptical.

At least no one is angry at just the idea of a re-invention, as Rifftrax is more or less MST3K without puppets. At least there isn't any wank! Yet.

I could have sworn I read this fic before... though, it will probably lack the crossover with the gender-swaping and global trek back to Minnesota. Or the breaking into NASA. And probably the talking cat, the other talking cat, REALITY 1, the HUB, or the Holocabana won't be there either. I have no doubt there will be destruction of the Hubble, though!

we're all made of star-stuff

I'm closing some tabs in Firefox, and I realize I never posted this bit about the Dali Lama and Buddhist lectures I went to on Wednesday.

So, I emerge from the deep end of Tibetan Buddhism... really, really tired. The ideas were interesting, especially about physical continuity and non-physical continuity, and quite a lot of it would not be terribly out of place in my cog sci class.

The night presentation was just a quick overview about the history of Tibetan Buddhism, mostly about the three greatest contributers: the one who brought Buddhism there, and the one that "re-awoke" the discipline. I forget which one, but tradition holds that one of the three greats - I think it's the re-awakener - is still "around" today as His Holiness.

Though, I wish I was able to see the Saturday lecture, for it was just about Compassion.
