Er, is the Companion job on Doctor Who supposed to be an inherently gendered role? Or at least on New Who? Because I keep reading screeds that go something along the line of "...women - and Jack..."

And since most of the essays aren't really wrong on their points, and it seems like Mickey got the same treatment before he decided that he'd just stay in the Alt!verse and he was an Companion, so does that mean that all New Who companions fit in the same box?

...What the hell? Seriously.

At least my AI that leads the laboratory section knows how to program python.
