time without clocks
Aug. 16th, 2007 08:39 pmI watched one of my favorite documentaries today, "Time" from the Understanding series. It's not the most informative things ever, but it's the best distillation of several thousands years of study down into forty-five minutes.
The two best segments are at the beginning. The first starts out with the physical world - purely 3D world - there is no time. It's only with life that time becomes meaningful into "future" and "past."
The other cool thing is that iguanas have a organ on top of their heads that can not only perceive the difference between light and dark, but different wavelengths of light.
