twincityhacker: hands in an overcoat's pockets (John Barrowman)
When I got my Torchwood books the other day, I noticed something interesting...

Uhm, is it just me, or does the Whoverse UK Prime Minister's office seem to have bit of a problem? The one at the series beginning were assassinated by the Slithen, then Harriet Jones' collapsed after some prodding of the Doctor, and the current one isn't gonna last.

That's three Prime Minsters in... two years?

And UNIT keeps getting slaughtered. Not that Torchwood is doing better the way it keeps self-destructing and taking out chunks of the surrounding areas with them.

Though, I'm hoping that the people in that 'verse are going to get the "aliens exist and are among us" that the denial and government secrecy keep feed backing on each other.

I don't like Jack/Gwen.

Because Jack is invested in her having a life outside of Torchwood. Jack is, in many ways, Torchwood. Thus, I just don't see it happening. But this is Torchwood.

Unless Gwen breaks up with Rhys in the first episode. Jack then tries to fix her up with some "nice, normal people" - which is really bound to include at least one alien, but the one that tries to kill her is the accountant - and they have guilty UST for a few more episodes before Jack finally gives in around episode nine.

Of coures, they would destruct in the final episodes because Jack can't keep it in his pants any better than Gwen and she can't handle being cheated on. And, maybe, she finds a nice guy at the end.
