Nothing really going on lately. I've been working on some things of the fanfictiony type, but nothing really good so far. Mostly because it's either dramatic or action nature, and all I can really write is where reality has gone to pot.

Plus the PC network at school didn't particulary care for me so I couldn't work at much as I wanted to on my sociolgy paper as I wanted. But I did end up with a partner for the project, Leslie, who isn't in my class period so I get the benifits of not having a partner when a partner would just be a distraction, and being able to split up the icky interveiwing part. Mostly because were probably need to inteview a priest or minister because our happy topic is about religion and homosexuality in Jasper. And what makes this extra fun is that Leslie is a pagan (I'm not sure excatly which paganistic religion though) and I'm... something. I'm thinking we're going to end up talking with someone of the Catholic variety at the very least, because historicly Jasper = Catholisim.

Though I feel the need to talk to someone in the Morman church just to ask why they bulit a church with a gigantic cement wall that looks like a window.

Dad and I are going to lend out our shoddy expertice again to Steven, because he's the director for ACT's winter show, and since it has five parts, there's going to be almost no one helping with the sets and so on... not like there's an aboundence of people to be had since Steven has directed most of the shows in the last three years out of default because there's hardy any other directiors.

Wow, they teach sociology in high school there? I didn't get a chance to take a course until my sophomore year of college.

Every onece and a while, you get a perk of being a student in Indiana. In this case, I get to take collage courses and credit in high school.

But I have to rent books and pay for classes, so it all balences out.

Th giant cement wall that looks like a window looks more like they were going to put in a stained glass window, but didn't.

On the front of the building? If that's the chapel end, many times they'll leave the front very bland and/or flat looking, ie just cement and bricks. The reason being if the local church membership rises to the point were the chapel can't hold anymore people, they'll expand the room by ripping down that wall and building outward. The Stoney Creek, Ontario chapel is a good example of this theory in practice; there's nice glasswork on the sides, but the outside wall of the chapel in the front is super bland.

Most LDS churchs are usually designed so that they're easily expandable without tearing down large chunks of the existing building in the process. My guess is that the cement is there for some bizarre decorative purpose to prevent the "wall of bland bricks". It wouldn't make sense to install a nice window if you're going to have to remove/destroy the window when you have to expand.

Wow. That's a stunningly pragamtic solution to expanding congragation sizes.

But it's nice to know that the not!window still a bizare ornamental feature.
