five hours of Father Ted later
Almost done with Father Ted - nine more episodes left!
But, this has nothing to do with Father Ted. This has to do with Red Green, or the guy who writes/plays him. Well, both.
For
commanderteddog: Anyway, I'm converting my tapes, and I have a partial copy of a PBS covering of Duck Tape Forever. The reason why I didn't chuck out the tape is that Steve Smith, in charecter of Red Green, is stumping for PBS. Would you like the clips, or do you already have them?
And in case I never have cause to bring this up again, Steve Smith looks exactly like my 8th grade science teacher and rocketing mentor. Beard, gray hair, EVERYTHING.

"Down with this kind of thing!"
Should I feel this lost?
I just got second two for ten bucks at a used DVD place. Did I tell you that before? That's how happy I am about it.

Re: Season Two. I think so, but it's still cool. And better that the price they want you to pay for it in the stores.
Re: "Down with this kind of thing!"
But what IS Red Green?
Re: "Down with this kind of thing!"
The Red Green Show is a TV show that's a parody of a public access program in some small, Northern Ontario town. That said, the Red Green version of Northern Ontario doesn't look completely like like the real deal, since a fair bit of it is actually filmed in Southern Ontario farmland. :P
Anywho, the show stars Red Green, sorta an aging and bitter version of your stereotypical "Man's man" and head of the local men's lodge, Possum Lodge. The co-host and director of the show is Red's nephew Harold, a geek who's very out of place in a backwater town like Possum Lake. They have adventures.

There's a odd sensibility to the show that's hard to explain. It was created in Hamilton, an extremely blue collar steeltown, and is set somewhere in rural Ontario and mixes the two cultures quite well. It's no wonder that people in Wisconsin and Minnesota love it, although it would probably seem quite foreign to someone further south.

If it's a TV special about the production of the movie, then I already have it. It's an extra on the movie DVD.
