So, I went to the Libary of the Borg to attempt to find House, Season one. I couldn't find it, but instead found another show that Hugh Laurie was in: Jeeves & Wooster! They have the complete first series, so I have the first three episdoes with me, and will swap them for the other two and Silent Running soon.

Unforunatly, I have discovered that Some Like It Hot is most definately lost. They're probably going to be ordering a new copy, though, as if it's in their "Classics" collection they like to keep a copy on hand, even though those movies aren't checked out as often. I'm going to, but I've got a facsination with silent films and they seem to have half the Sherlock Holmes movies ever made.

If you were in EC I'd totally loan you my Season 1 DVD's, but you're all the way in Indiana. :(

Perhaps I convince Tiffany to either teach me how to copy DVD's or just do it herself XD

Thats okay. I'll eventualy track the little bugger down. = )

But, copying DVDS is a piece of cake. I have two programs, one's DVD Decrypter and the other is DVD Shrink. The first is just the easiest way to copy a DVD to a computer or another DVD, as you can just crack the regional coding and copy off the .ISO file and then burn it to another disk. I use DVD Shrink if the file is something other than a .ISO file, like .avis or whatever, and it burns them. It can also, of course, make a .ISO file smaller so it will fit on a single layer DVD, as most movies are more than 5 GB.

Anyway, both programs are super easy to use, and since I'm using them they're also free. 'Cause I'm too cheep to buy proper programs like Nero or Photoshop. *nods*

I have DVD Decrypter, but I never really got past copying them to the computer. I always ended up copying them as AVI, and I couldn't figure out to make them a real DVD. *shrugs*

A real DVD as burning them to a DVD disk or something else?

A DVD that would actually play in a DVD player, instead of a DVD that just has files on it, like a backup.

Yeah, then you want to make it an .ISO file, I belive, before you burn it to the DVD. Does that make any sense? It's been awhile since I've made one that would play in a DVD player.

Yeah. I'm not sure how to make an ISO file, but I know what one is ;)

With DVD Decrypter, it's pretty easy. All you have to do is first crack the regional encoding, then go to the Mode setting on top. Then go to the ISO file and click "Read." If you want to rename the file or place it somewhere else, click the little folder icon. Then just push the icon on the bottom with the DVD to Hardrive icon.

.ISO File. Then to burn the file, all you have to do is change the 'Read' setting to 'Write' and follow the prompts in the boxes.

But, as most commercial DVDs are bigger than the single layer disks, it's not particuarly helpful. -_-O
