On a side note: I find it hilarious that I want to visit a big city that's over 3000 miles away, but the one one 300 miles away fills me with meh.

It may just have bad associations with Chicago, because I almost always get yelled at by people when I visit, so maybe that doesn't count. But I don't like New York City for philosophical reasons, I didn't care much for San Diego when I visited, Atlanta fills me with dread since I got stuck in the middle of a car chase there... I don't care for big cities.

Edit: Except for Boston. I like Boston!

But I want to go to London. WTF brain.

And now I promise to stop spamming you lot. Really.

I used to be really scared of London, but I'm used to it now. It's rather swish, and the tube gets less confusing every time I go on it.

Glasgow, though? The single most batshit city in Britain. Never go to Glasgow.

What's so batshit about Glasgow?

Everyone there is insane. Officially. The amount of people who ran out in front of our car? And it's just... huge. And sprawley. And horrible.

That sounds remarkably like where I live now. = )

:( I like Chicago. It's big and pretty. Me and Emilie actually fought there, it was one of the first things we did. And I hit her were it hurt (that she dropped out of college). Then I got yelled at for making her almost cry.

The rest of the trip was near-great. My family, being my family, rushed me through the art museum though.

I thought it would be as crappy as Milwaukee (which I really have a distaste for, as nice as it can seem), but I'd like to live there some day. Or at least live near enough I could pop over daily.

Maybe it's just the living in the cities thing that turned you off to most big cities?

Some of the cities I just wouldn't like no matter what happened in them, like I just dislike everything about California. And being in the middle of a car chase would turn you off just about everywhere...

I don't know. Maybe it's a familiarity breeds contempt thing, though I've never really lived anywhere that could be considered "the big city," since Altoona is the closest thing to a city I've lived in.

wow, holy crap, really?

Hell, I lived in Eau Claire and it's... not exactly small.

Also, I'd have to agree with the California thing. Nothing has ever appealed toward me about it.

Yeah, most of my life I've lived in very small places. Bloomington is the largest place I've ever lived.
