(no subject)

For sociology class, my teacher wants us to come up with some religous films. But since I really don't want to see either The Passion of the Christ or Left Behind, I'm trying to come up with some altenitive films that you, know, would be religous and entertaining. Or at least films that won't make me want to strangle the charecters.

So the list so far is:

Spirted Away
Dogma
Dead Poet's Society
Yentl
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Dagon (sadly, he said no)
The Prince of Egypt
A Friendly Persusation

Any suggestions?

Plus the movie has to be fairly easy to find - so no HELL HOUSE.

  • Pi, which is all about Judaism and number theory.
  • Trembling Before G-d, about homosexual hasedic jews
  • Diary of a Mad Black Woman
  • Fiddler on the Roof, since you mention Yentil
  • The Apostle, which is tremendous, even if at times you want to strangle the Apostle EF.
  • The Pope Must Die
  • Boondock Saints (a case could be made)
  • Whale Rider
  • ^_^

    The Crucible, because... why not?

How about Manos: The Hands of Fate? Didn't it have to do with some cult? Or do you mean real religions XD

Saved. It's the perfect religious movie for someone who's very. . . anti-religion. Otherwise, I'd try for Dogma, cuz that movie is teh shit, too.
