Cool. Me wants to go to 'Hacker's school. Media is like my lifeblood. We never had media-related speakers at high school; we just had ones explaining how it was okay to have a trade instead of a college/university education, since we were in a working class area. Which is a shame, because more media literacy could have really helped that community. We were self-destructing in the artificial culture constructed for us.
In fact, modern culture is so media illiterate it's disgusting. The amount of crap in teen movies I've seen over the weekend is proof of that, not to mention the bullshit I've seen at universities, the so-called holy tower of education. I better shut up before I start ranting.
Although, I do have a funny story about the degrading state of news reporting you may find interesting, if you dig all this media literacy jazz.
