On the Lighter Side

Next time you hear that Obama has the alien, don't think it's the stupid birthers with their xenophobic asshatery. Look to the lighter side: think about those people who think that Obama is really from a small planet near Betelgeuse.

It may be the correct reality, but my reality at least makes sense. In some cases, WAY more sense.

P.S. I've been fiddling with banners, and I'll be switching them soon. I like my Batgirl banner, but it's a wee bit depressing.

don't rain on my parade

Today I heard that Amazon was removing the rankings from GLBTQ books. Individuals have written to the company asking about it, and their reply was "In consideration of our entire customer base, we exclude "adult" material from appearing in some searches and best seller lists. Since these lists are generated using sales ranks, adult materials must also be excluded from that feature." AKA "We take down rankings on books that people complain about."

For an example:

John Barrowman's autobiography Anything Goes, Paperback Edition has a ranking

But the hardcover edition Doesn't.

I'm fiddling with some of the plug-ins in ljArchive. One of them is a count of how many times a word has been used. I just find it facinating that I've used the names Joel, Mike, and Jack more times than I've used the word "okay."

The top ten words are: Joel, com, MST3K, today, Jack, Mike, class, html, livejournal, actually.

Though, the common word list is: the, and, to, I, a, of, that, in, it, is. anticipatory.

I also have my food all ready to go for the train wreck debate.
